Limassol Sculpture Park Cyprus


The art and cultural aspect of Limassol is wide spread, beyond the ancient ruins, museums and numerous archeological sites, it's great artistic sense is evident from classic displays of beautiful sculptures, to get a glimpse of some of the greatest man made marvels take a trip to the Limassol Sculpture Park, the park is over a mile long and is on the seafronts reclaimed land.

A remarkable string of public sculptures commissioned by the Limassol Municipality, can be found here and features 20 large sculptures, it's well worth a visit, among the artists featured are Manolis Tsombanakis, Vassilis Vassili, Costas Dikefalos, Yiorgos Tsaras, Yiorgos Houliaras and Kyriakos Rokos from Greece. Famous Cypriot artists like Maria Kyprianou, Kyriakos Kallis, Helene Black and Nikos Kouroussis and Saadia Bahat from Israel and German and Egyptian artists like Victor Bonato and Ahmet El-Stoahy.

The Park is located by the sea-front, featuring a series of public sculptures created during three international events from 1999 to 2001. The sculptures vary from medium to large and many of their artists come from a variety of international backgrounds, and should be experienced at least once whilst visiting the island.
